Coronation Street cast: Sally Dynevor in Corrie bombshell about daughter ‘Too upsetting’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Sally Dynevor, who has been a regular in Coronation Street for the past 32 years, revealed her daughter Harriet is no longer able to watch the ITV show at all. The actress’ alter ego Sally Metcalfe was previously sentenced to four years in prison after being unfairly framed by Duncan Radfield (played by Nicholas Gleaves). The 55-year-old opened up about what the “tricky” scenes were like to film in a joint interview with her youngest child, 15, who finds them “too upsetting”. However, speaking to the latest issue of OK! Magazine, the soap regular said she could thankfully switch off after returning home.

Sally started: “It’s physically and emotional tricky, but it’s been great. A couple of nights I was so tired I put my clothes straight on and headed home.”

She continued: “I was in traffic and I looked terrible with a black eye and a cut nose. People were looking at me thinking, poor girl!

“But as soon as I get home I always switch off and go into mum mode. Hattie can’t watch me in Corrie because it’s too upsetting seeing me in prison.”

The star added: “She said she won’t watch it again until the story’s finished.”

Hattie went on: “I don’t like watching mum crying and seeing her behind bars. She has been working so hard, though, I’m very proud of her.”

Meanwhile, during their chat, Sally hinted at what fans can expect over the Christmas period for the long-serving character.

She confirmed: “She is trying to make the best of it, but then Tim [Metcalfe] visits and drops a bombshell that he slept with Gina [Sneddon].

“She can’t believe it and is absolutely devastated.”

Sally also said: “The one thing keeping her going was thinking of her family. You will have to wait and see how that unfolds.”

She first joined Corrie back in January 1986 and two years ago she and her on-screen husband Joe Duttine won the award for best on-screen partnership at the British Soap Awards.

In real life, she is also married to a Tim, in the form of BAFTA-nominated scriptwriter Tim Dynevor.

The couple walked down the aisle in 1995 and they now have three children together: Phoebe, 23, Samuel, 21, as well as Harriet.

Nine years ago, Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer, at the same time her character Sally was.

She took a six-month break from the show and returned in July 2010.
