Dancing On Ice 2019 Holly Willoughby shocked as Phillip Schofield reveals show change | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

presenter revealed a few changes to the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice, and it turns out was left in the dark about the exciting improvements due to being on the other side of the world.

Dancing On Ice 2019 will see a big change for viewers as Phillip revealed to Express.co.uk there will now be an extra camera on the ice to bring closer and smoother visuals to viewers at home.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Phillip asked Holly: “Did you know about the camera on the ice?”

Holly gasped: “No! What? I don’t know anything. But as I’ve been walking around I’ve been going, ‘What? What’s happening?’”

Phillip then explained: “So we’ve got an extra camera. It’s like a Steadicam on ice this year.

“So there is a cameraman or a cameraperson on the ice!”

Holly chuckled: “I’d see that kind of as a moving target! It’s going to look great as long as no-one skates into them.”

Phillip confirmed: “So there is a camera on ice! I can’t wait,” as Holly teased: “An obstacle! Wow. That’s going to look good.”

When asked by Express.co.uk if there would be any format changes this year, Holly had to rely on her co-host Phillip to answer.

Holly laughed: “I mean, don’t ask me. I didn’t even know there was a camera on the ice. I don’t know. I don’t think so?”

Phillip revealed: “No, I don’t think so. We’ve got a new building. It was purpose built last year, but it rattled like hell.

“So we’ve got a new, much more substantial building, a much more long-term building.

“And so I don’t think you’ll see the training rink on the telly this year.

“I don’t think we’re going to be doing that. Everyone is in a different area. So other than tweaks, there’s no major change, because it wasn’t broken.”

Phillip added: “We don’t need to fiddle with it too much.

“But apart from those little improvements where you add something here, add something there, change the choreography, put the camera on ice… that sort of stuff.”

Fans of the show have patiently waited to see Holly and Phillip take to the ice in skates for a routine of their own.

Asked by Express.co.uk if they could be seen on skates this year, the pair looked horrified by the thought.

Holly gulped: “Me? No. Sorry. You never know!” as Phillip laughed: “You never know! You never know!”

2019 begins on on January 6, 2019 at 6pm.
