Melissa Suffield, 26, who is best-known for playing Lucy Beale in BBC soap opera EastEnders, revealed she is expecting her first child.
The English actress, who portrayed the character from 2004 to 2010, confirmed the happy news to The Sun Online.
Melissa’s pregnancy was revealed three months after her engagement to Cruise Directer Robert Brendan.
The former soap star told reporters: “We’re so excited to become parents.”
Melissa took to Instagram at the start of summer to announce her engagement to her beau.
She shared a picture with her 8,7000 followers showing a close-up of her beautiful engagement ring with the caption “#ISaidYaass”.
The July 24 post also included a romantic picture of the couple at sunset.
The actress and her fiancé appear to be soaking up the sun on a cruise around the Mediterranean at the moment.
A loved-up snap in Syracuse, Italy was followed by pictures from a toga party in Rhodes on Melissa’s social media account.
The publication reported that the mum-to-be is in her second trimester with the baby due in mid-March.
The expectant-father added: “I’m over the moon but nervous too!”
