Gemma Atkinson, 34, and boyfriend, Gorka Marquez, 29, welcomed daughter, Mia, into the world at the beginning of July.
The former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress delivered her child via C-section and she has since been taking it easy due to the surgery.
But Gemma, who is known for her fitness regimes and gym-honed physique, is now trying to get back to her old lifestyle and uploaded a video of herself exercising to her Instagram account.
The new mother has amped up her workouts, and revealed she had completed 30 minutes on her StairMaster machine, having struggled to do 10 minutes following Mia’s birth.
The former Strictly Come Dancing 2017 contestant expressed how proud she was of herself as she admitted she thought she would have had to give up her gym lifestyle and felt as if she “couldn’t do it anymore” after Mia.
Following her workout, she spoke to the camera and said: “I’ve had messages from you saying some of you have just had sections like I have, you’re due a baby, worried about your body changing, or you’ve had a baby and still not feeling like yourself.
“I want to say if someone had said to me 12 weeks ago I would be back on my StairMaster for half an hour, I would have literally burst into tears.”
Recalling what she said at the time, Gemma said: “’No I won’t, those days are gone, I can’t do it anymore’.
“That’s genuinely how I felt at first, and it’s normal because your hormones are everywhere, your body’s changed, it’s become stronger because it’s grown another human.”
Motivating her fans, Gemma urged: “You will get there but you probably won’t feel like it now.
“Those of you who are smashing it and are mentally feeling amazing, that’s incredible.
“I know some of you have messaged me saying you don’t feel like that, but you will get there.”
Gemma went on to reveal getting back into the swing of things was “horrendous” but ensured she kept on going.
“Yes, it was horrendous it was awful but I’ve done it, stick with it and do not give up on yourself,” she said.
Meanwhile, Gemma’s beau, Gorka, appeared on Lorraine yesterday where he chatted about Mia’s birth and not having a celebrity partner on Strictly Come Dancing 2019.
Gorka acknowledged it’s a “great time” to not be as heavily involved in the show, as he gets to spend more time with his three-month-old baby and Gemma.
“If I were to choose a time for to happen, it was the best time to happen,” he said.
“I have got the best of both sides because I am in the show with the group routines and I get to watch everyone and I love it, and I have Mia and Gemma.”
“She looks so beautiful,” host Lorraine Kelly gushed about Mia.
“I know. She looks like her mum, that’s why,” Gorka praised.
