Strictly Come Dancing star Graeme Swann, 39, and Oti Mabuse, 28, danced together on the BBC show last year, but the cricket star will be performing with Karen Clifton, 35, on the upcoming tour. Taking to Twitter, Oti shared an article which stated Karen and Graeme have been rehearsing together for the tour. In view of her 78,000 followers, she wrote: “My loves… I can’t wait for these two to dance together please do the your and each other’s friendship.”(sic) Graeme and Karen will perform on the tour along with a host of their fellow co-stars later this month.
Oti will not be performing in the scheduled shows due to her other work commitments including her current stint on The Greatest Dancer.
Last month, she shared her excitement for the pair, but admitted she was “sad” to be missing out.
She wrote: “So happy to announce @officialgraemeswann WILL be joining the @strictlycomedancinglive but WITHOUT me.
“Instead he will be dancing with my lovely, incredibly talented friend @karecliftonofficial.”
She added: “Can’t wait to see you two burning the floor together.
“Although I’m sad, I know you’ll be in great hands and, for those asking why I’m not on tour, I’ll be starting on the brand new show @greatestdancer next year that’s coming soon on @bbcone.”
Graeme and Oti missed out on a slot in the semi-final on the BBC series last year, but still remain good friends.
Elsewhere, Oti is currently a judge on The Greatest Dancer alongside Cheryl and Matthew Morrison.
Ahead of the show’s first episode last week, the Strictly pro hit back at claims she doesn’t get along with Cheryl.
A source previously told The Sun: “Cheryl arrived with such an air of superiority — a few of the crew thought she was being a bit of a diva.
“Oti has years of dance competition experience alongside Strictly where she’s been massively popular with fans – but has absolutely no ego at all.
“They didn’t seem to gel and it was pretty uncomfortable.”
Oti took to her Instagram to post a picture of her and Cheryl hugging alongside a lengthy caption in view of her 170,000 followers.
She wrote: “Imagine a world where two women work together with love, support and nothing but sisterhood.
“THERE ABSOLUTELY NO TENSION between @cherylofficial and myself.
“This beautiful woman has been nothing but caring, accepting and guiding towards me, she’s funny, smart and honest @cherylofficial sis you’re an absolute QUEEN I love you dearly and cannot wait to work with you.”
A representative for Cheryl also denied the claims, telling Express.co.uk it is a “fabricated story”.
The Greatest Dancer continues tonight on BBC at 8.10pm.
