The Walking Dead has brought a lot of character arcs to an end in recent seasons.
And season ten is going to follow suit, as it has been reported Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) will be making her exit as well.
Michonne actor Danai has been busy of late, as she has starred in a number of Marvel movies as Okoye from the Black Panther franchise.
However this week the first image of Michonne in season ten has been released, and it shows off just how powerfully she is going to be leaving.
In the image posted by Entertainment Weekly, Michonne can be seen wielding her signature katana weapon.
With a grimace on her face, she is swinging her weapon wildly towards a few visible walkers.
Meanwhile, behind her a fire rages, leaving her stuck between certain death on both sides.
Considering this fire is set in a forest, Michonne will certainly have to get out of this scenario as quick as she can before she becomes trapped.
Fans of the show were quick to comment on this epic photo, with one writing: “This season looks great!”
Another said: “Can’t wait to watch…”
While another added: “Omg, this is beautiful can’t wait.”
If the rumours surrounding Michonne’s final season are true, could this scene be her last stand against the forces of the undead?
Meanwhile, The Walking Dead’s showrunner Angela Kang recently told Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming time jump on the show.
And she also hinted at the next step for Rosita (Christian Serratos) – who was last seen heavily pregnant.
She explained: “We’re passing a few months, probably. I feel like we mark time on the show based on the children.
“So we saw Rosita pretty heavily pregnant at the end of last year, and I’ll say that that state has changed.”
However this means the group will have a baby to protect in the coming episodes.
And fans of the show will remember how difficult that was for the character during Judith’s infant years.
Could viewers see Michonne protecting Rosita’s baby and ultimately sacrifice herself for the cause?
The Walking Dead season 10 is coming soon to AMC.
